♪ How to return a ticket?

You cannot return a ticket once purchased but the BBSO will honor that ticket at any BBSO regular concert during that season you purchased the ticket.

♪ How to deal with my electronic devices?

Cell phone melodies can be nice…but you come to a concert in order to be entertained by real musicians. So just keep in mind to switch off your mobile before entering the hall. Everybody will appreciate it.

♪ Are refreshments available during the concerts?

Do not come hungry to the concert, because there are no refreshments available

♪ When am I supposed to applaud?

Applause is meant as a greeting and to show appreciation for the artists. Traditionally audience applauds to greet the concertmaster and also the conductor and soloists.

Many musical works have multiple sections. In between those sections it is not common to applaud. After the final movement however, just let it all out!

♪ Dress code

There is no certain dress code, most people wear business clothes or slightly dressy casual clothes. Anything that makes you feel comfortable is fine.

♪ How long are concerts?

The concerts are usually around two hours including intermission.

♪ What if I do not know anything about classical music?

You do not have to be a music expert. Just come and enjoy. If you wish to have some information prior to the concert, visit our website, where we give some background information about the musical works and composers. The more you know the more interesting it might be.

♪ When should I arrive?

  • 45 minutes before the concert starts: You are very early but you can choose any seat
  • 30 minutes before the concert starts: You are just right in time, find a good seat and make yourself comfortable
  • 15 minutes before the concert starts: You are still in time to find a seat, to take off your jacket and get into the mood.
  • 1 minute before the concert starts: You are a late one, you better take off your jacket while running to your seat
  • If you are too late, you will miss the first part of the concert. Latecomers will be admitted at an appropriate break.

♪ Am I allowed taking photographs during the concert?

Not during the concert, no. You might take them in the break or right after the concert. There is also the possibility to meet with the musicians since they exit the stage through the audience.  Feel free to introduce yourself.

♪ Why are all BBSO concerts at the Temple Beth el?

The Temple Beth El provides a high amount of seating with great opportunities for acoustic events. We would like to thank the Temple Beth El community who makes the place available for everybody.

♪ What if I have to visit the restroom during the performance?

There are restrooms available next to the main lobby.  We would recommend that you use the restrooms before and after the concert though.

♪ What happens if I fall asleep during the show?

As long as you are not disturbing your seat-neighbors, we realize music is very calming.

♪ How do I know what seat is the right one for me?

The outstanding location of Temple Beth El provides perfect acoustics no matter where you sit. If you like to watch the musicians while playing their instruments, you want to sit in the front rows.
