BBSO Adopt-A-School Project

The Hutchins Middle School of Detroit, Michigan is in its fourth year of participating in the BBSO's Adopt-A-School Project.

Private music lessons in small groups for the "Young Aspiring Artists" are the basis for this project. BBSO's very own Sharon Nicolia, viola, believes the kids in this program learn not only the techniques of performing in an ensemble but they willingly encourage each other towards a greater music appreciation.

Other BBSO musicians will also visit the students throughout the school year. This partnership allows music to come to Hutchins School with their own students performing.

These young music students performed at a special concert in the spring of 2007. This project is made possible through the generous support of Chase Bank.
