The BBSO closes its 40th Season with a celebration of music both elegantly energetic and inspirational. We welcome soloist Kurt Nikkanen, principal violinist for the New York City Ballet, as he dazzles audiences with one of the most virtuosic and romantically exciting violin concertos of the 20 Century: Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2.  The BBSO will also perform Falla’s The Three Cornered Hat and Strauss’s Divertimento after Piano Pieces by Couperin.

A Glorious Noise

The BBSO is excited to collaborate with the interim music director of Christ Church Cranbrook for its December concert on this iconic work for organ and orchestra: Poulenc’s Organ Concerto. The glorious sound of this 20 century classical piece from the BBSO with the renowned Jeffrey Smith on one of the finest organs in the country is truly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The BBSO will also perform Boyce’s Symphony No. 5 in D Major, Bach’s Suite No. 3 in D Major, and Mozart’s Serenata Notturna for this special season concert.

White Hot Cello

The BBSO launches its 40th Anniversary season on October 17th with the concert White Hot Cello! Principal Cellist of the Athens State Orchestra in Greece - Yannis Tsitselikis - solos with the BBSO, performing Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme.

Music Director John Thomas Dodson starts this 40th Season with powerful performances of Rameau, Tchaikovsky, and Mozart. Yannis Tsitselikis, to bring a fiery and exciting season opener, is a soloist of immense passion that is not to be missed. Join us for the one-time performance of Tchaikovsky’s Rococo and Mozart’s 40th Symphony - celebrating our 40th birthday!
