Mozart: Overture to La Clemenza di Tito Hummel: Trumpet Concerto Handel: Excerpts from Water Music Haydn: Symphony No. 97 in C major
This concert of music from the "classical" era features the superb strings, winds, brass and timpani of the BBSO. Mozart's elegant overture is followed by Hunnel's exuberant trumpet concerto with our own virtuoso Timothy Krohn taking the star turn. You'll enjoy the stately splendor of Handel's Water Music and the solid eloquence of Haydn's mature symphony. It is our "classic" valentine to you.

Rossini: Sinfonia di Bologna Bizet: Roma Schubert: Overture in D major (In the Italian Style) Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 4 in A major ("Italian")
Conductor John Thomas Doson returns to put his imprint on a program of music from and about Italy. Rossini's sprightly Sinfonia of 1808 oepns the evening followed by Bizet's Roma, a rarity full of melody and charm from teh composer of Carmen. Schubert's Overture "In the Italian Style" is the warm-up for Mendelssohn's dramatic Symphony No. 4, a powerful work inspired by his Italian journey. Enjoy this exciting tour of the fabled, eternal Italy.

The genius of the north, Jean Sibelius, headlines the program with his mighty Symphony No. 5. The orchestra soars from the triumphal first to the powerhouse final movement. Our talented BBSO Young Artist Competition winner is featured next on a concerto movement with the orchestra. We look forward to summer with Mendelssohn, then brace ourselves for the season finale, Ravel's blazing tour de force, Boléro. Dont miss a minute of this thrilling evening.
